District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Chirang is a newly created State Government Institution under BTR in Chirang District and is located at Kajalgaon, District Headquarter of the Chirang District. Kajalgaon is located at District Administrative Complex of Chirang District near the National Highway 37 under the 31- Sidli Assembly Constituency of the State. It is 4.4 km away from Dangtol Railway Station. It is also connected with all weather roads. The place is situated near the BRPL, Dhaligaon and Bonagaigaon city.
The area comprise of mainly Bodo community and others are Muslims, Rajbongshi , Adivasi, etc. The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET ) was established in 2023 under the State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Assam in line with adoption of NPE 1986 for carrying out educational research and training on primary school teachers. It works for bringing about the qualitative improvement of school education in the District. In collaboration with the SCERT Assam, the DIET engages in development of District academic plans and monitors quality of teaching and learning in schools in the District.
